Please answer the following questions:

1. Which do you find easier: Excel or Word?
2. What is the most challenging task from the Excel Unit (e.g. conditional formatting, "If" function, charts etc.)?
3. Did you feel prepared for the Challenge Exam?
4. What would you want to revisit after taking the challenge exam (before the final)?
5. What is one application that you could see yourself using Excel for (When could you use it)?

  1. 1.I actually found Word easier than Excel.
2.For me, i think that it was the percentages and the little formulas you have to type in.
3.No, i could not concentrate and i pretty much failed the exam.
4.I would have to say finding the percentages.
5.I would use Excel for making pie charts and for Mr. Gray's class.

  2. I pick word is alot easier than excel, mostly because i am more comfortable with word and I am more use to word. Conditional formatting was a difficult unit for me because I didnt really understand what they wanted me to do. Yes the challenge exam was quite difficult but you know I got passed it and I think I did pretty well with it. The thing I would like to revisit on the exam is really nothing actually I understood everything and hopefully I got a good score on the exam. One application I would be using excel for is probably web design or something like business management for like build boards and stuff.

  3. 1.for me, i find word more easier because i have been using word for a while.
2.the most challenging task from excel was getting the percent because it took me a while for myself to figure out.
3.I wasnt perpared for the challenge Exam because when it started to talk about adding the 3% to the total,i got confuse on how to start the formula to get my answer.
    4.The formula eqn
5.I dont think that i would use excel in the future.

  4. 1. I think Word was easier for me because I've had enough experience working with it for the past 4 years of high school. It was something that was necessary to know how to use to pass my classes in the past and it forced me to become more familiar with it and how it works.
    2. The most challenging task for me from Excel was using all the formulas and having to come up with formulas for certain projects on my own. It made me use my knowledge of math as well as my knowledge of excel to make sure the equations I entered were correct.
    3. I felt prepared for the exam but I while I was taking it, I felt like I could have been more prepared than I was.
    4. Before the final I would want to revisit using equations on excel.
    5. I could see myself using Excel to make a chart for my senior project presentation board. I could also use excel to type up my friends addresses/phone numbers to keep in a address book or phone book.

  5. i think word was easier than excel, just because i been more familiar with it and have used it way more than ive used excel. the most challenging task from excel was probably the typing out percentages or formulas manually rather than just using the formulas button. i thought i was prepared for the challenge exam, and i guess i was somewhat but there were alot of things that i was vague about while taking it, somethings i just couldnt remember how to do. i would want to go over typing in formulas manually, and the charts that you add to a worksheet. i think id most likely use excel if i had to make a list of something for myself and other people. it would be easiest to make the list on excel and give it to people - for whatever it is ?

  6. 1. I found word a little easier, I've never really used excel but it was still pretty easy. I"ve used word alot more.
2.The hardest thing I think was the conditional formating, those number sign things jus threw me off.
3.I felt pretty sure about it. it was pretty easy.
    4.the Conditional formatting.
5.I think I would use it to make charts and future surveys.

  7. 1. I find excel t be easier because there are more function buttons to help you out.
    2. The mosy challenging thing was remembering the shorcuts for formulas.
    3. I felt some what prepared because i knew how to format but i for got about the equations for some of columns.
    4. I would want to revisit how to do certain fromulas.
    5. I can see myself using it for surveys.

  8. 1. i find word easier than excel, probably because ive known word longer than excel.
    2. i believe that the most challenging tast in excel is the "if" function because it is difficult setting up the function.
    3. At first i was confused in preparing for the Challenge exam, but later i realized that i knew how to do all the tasks, so i felt well-prepared.
    4. I would want to revisit the "if" function and the charts because there are some aspects that im still a little confused about.
    5. i can see myself using excel for lists, especially dealing with price and numbers, but lists and general. For example, i have used excel to make a chart before.

  9. I find Word being easier because i already know what i am doing and i am new to excel. The most challenging task in Excel Unit is the functions. I think that i was prepared for the challenge exam, i hope i did good. Before i take the final i would like to go over the function equations. I think that i could use it maybe in my future years of highschool.

  10. 1.I think that Excel is easier because I feel it is more straight forward than word.
    2. The most challenging task of excel I think is the functions because one mistake can mess up the whole worksheet.
    3. I felt somewhat prepared for the Challenge Exam because I only remembered some of the equations.
    4. I would like to revisit how to get the percent total because its still a bit confusing for me.
    5. I have already used Excel for my Government Poll Project, so I might be using it for future projects.

  12. 1.)i think word is easier because its more simple and straight forward.
2.)The most hardest thing on Exel is the percent functions.
3.)I was sort of ready for the exam. I was missing a few things but i think i was ready.
    4.)The peercent formulas.
5.)Nothing now because i have no classes having to do with the computer.

  13. 1. Word was a lot easier to me than Excel probably becouse I have had more experience with word rather than Excel. I have had to do many word documents and found my way around myself compared to Excel which is barely used.

    2. The hardest part in Excel definatly had to be the the format of the formula's. Typing them up and memerizeing which formula to use when was somewhat confusing.

    3. Yes, I found that everything looked familiar and was easily solved with proper organization of the information.

    4. The "What if" function. I never really got the whole "Fill in the cell red If the solution is higher than XXX".

    5. For calculateing my purchases to manage my money or makeing posters for a PR campaign i will hopefully be working for.

  14. 1) I find Word easier to me because I'm used to using that one more.
    2) All the references (absolute... etc.) were confusing to me. I didn't know where to put the dollar signs or anything.
    3) Yes, because the assignments we did for excel were similar to the challenge exam so we knew what was on the test.
    4) The references definitely. Those were too confusing for me.
    5) For any project, if I ever have to make a graph or something then I could definitely use excel as long as I have the info I need.

  15. I find Word easier becauase it doesnt have to deal with numbers and equations. It is also more useful in my everyday life. Memorizing the equations in order to be able to use the functions. i wasnt ready for it and i think that thats because i wasnt here on the day before the exam. i think that i needed a little bit more practice. Equations and percentages. i can actually use it for my upcoming math and chemistry projects. Also during the future.

  16. 1.I think that Excel is a lot more easier than Word. Word just has a lot more typing than Excel.
2.The most challenging task from the Excel Unit would be finding the right function for the right equation.
3.Yes, I think I was prepared enough for the Challenge Exam. Some parts just seem confusing to me.
4.I would want to review on the Percentage of Total again.
5.Applications that I could see myself using Excel for are the charts to show a percentage of something out of the whole amount, a graph, and tables that could be used in surveys.

  17. 1. I find Excel to be easier than Word.
    2. The most challenging task from the excel unit is creating absolute references and putting in the different equations to find out the percentage of something.
    3. I think I was prepared and also not prepared. So basically, kind of in the middle.
    4. After taking the Challenge Exam, I would want to revisit on how to make the different equations.
5.In the future, I would probably use excel for making different charts for assignments.

  18. 1. I found Word easier than Excel because it wasn't my first time using it and less complicated.
    2. The most challenging task in the Excel Unit is the absolute references and when you have to change the formulas for the percent totals only. Everything else was easy to catch up on.
    3. No, I did not feel prepared for the challenge exam because i still wasn't familiar with where the functions and buttons are and there wasn't enough time.
    4. Before the final, I would want to review finding the percentages of totals with absolute reference.
    5. In excel, It can help me make pie charts or used for organizing or planning events. I could use them for school, presentations, planning for parties, etc.

  19. 1- I think word is easier than excel because in word you dont have to use confusing formulas as in excel, i like excel too but i find word easier.
2-The most challenging task for me was to find the total reflected per year and the percentages because we have to use formulas that i cant remember.
3-I actually did feel prepared for the exam because i did all of the review excersices.
4-I would like to review how to get the percentages and the reflected total per year.
5-I could use excel to make a chart of how many people like a certain brand in a store and how much do they spend.

  21. 1. I'd say that Excel is easier than Word because it's not too much typing and you have formulas to do math for you unlike Word.

    2. The most challenging thing about Excel was trying to remember the If function. we got mixed up on what the formula was supposed to be so I can hardly remember it.

    3. I felt mostly prepared for the challenge exam, but I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do something on one part. It said to find the total of the given information. And then we were supposed to find the total of the information from a different angle. I just didn't know if we were supposed to find the total of the average, maximum, and minimum.

    4. I'd like to revisit the If formula. I'm not sure if I remember the right one. I'm still a little confused on what the right formula for "If" is.

    5. The formulas. They were used in every Excel work that we had to do. That or I don't remember NOT using the formula application on Excel.

  22. 1) I found excel easier because it was less complex and more easier to work with.
    2) The most challenging tasks from excel were mostly the functions. Some were easy and some, not so much. Also trying to find the percents from the total cost of something. That was somewhat difficult.
    3) Yes I did feel prepared for the challenge exam, but I didn't quite know how to do a couple of things.
    4) I would probably want to revisit the functions about percent and using absolute references.
    5) I would use exel to make lists, charts, and just use exel some necessities.

  23. I think they're both on the same level of a easy slighly tricky level. I felt though that I was prepared for all of the Word exams whereas yesterday when taking the excel's exam it did not feel a 100% confidence shot. I know that happen because I did not really have the equations down and so that took a little while to figure it out through common sense. Now, I think the most easy part of excel is pretty much everything that I learned such as conditional formatting (fun), making charts of any kind, organizing data, polishing the data, it's cool stuff.
I would like to review the equations way more to have them down even in my sleep.
I see myself using excel frequently as I have with Statistics, Ame. Gov. collecting data, and of course even for my private life when it comes to making my calendar and adding events to it.

  24. I found word easier than excel because I already knew what word was. The most challenging thing about excel is making formulas. I didn’t really feel prepared for the exam because I didn’t know how to do some of the things, but I knew how to do most of it. . I want to revisit on how to make formulas. I could see myself using excel for later in high school, or like a job.
